Lynne Lachenmyer

Lynne Lachenmyer graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a BS in Chemical Engineering.  She was recognized as a Distinguished Alumni in Engineering in 2011 and the Engineering Hall of Fame in 2014.   Upon graduation in 1980, Lynne joined Mobil Oil Corporation, and in 2000 Exxon Mobil Corporation.  During her career, which spanned more than 37 years, she worked in refining, supply and petrochemical technical, manufacturing and business positions with increasing leadership responsibilities. Her roles enabled her to travel and live abroad, moving 8 different times as her career progressed.  Upon retirement in 2018 she was Vice President, Exxon Mobil Corporation, managing Safety, Security, Health and Environment for the corporation.

Lynne served as co-chair of Mobil Corporation’s Diversity Advisory Council, and on the ExxonMobil Foundation Board.  She also worked with AIChe on their Inclusion and Diversity Roadmap initiative.  Lynne served on the Petro Stopping Center Board in 1997 and 1998, the Singapore Economic Development Board in 2006 and 2007, and on the Dean of Engineering’s Leadership Board for California Polytechnic University from 2012 to 2019.  She also served on the National Safety Council, and Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas and Dallas Boards.

Lynne and her husband, Todd, have two grown sons and one grandchild.  They believe in giving back to the communities in which they live and place a high value on education.   Lynne is actively involved in STEM outreach programs. They established the Young Leaders in Engineering Scholarships, which recognize the academic and leadership accomplishments of members of the Cal Poly Pomona chapter of the Society of Women Engineers.
