Introduction

Live and learn at Cal Poly Pomona by living in a Themed Community that aligns with your learning goals! Get the most out of your time in housing by selecting a living space that aligns with your college or class standing.

How do I Join?

University Housing Services will do their best to assign freshmen to their College Themed Community (CTC) based on their declared major and the availability of rooms in the CTC. Continuing students can identify their preferred theme by identifying their preferred building on their Housing Application. Placement in preferred communities or buildings is not guaranteed.

College Themed Communities

There is a College Themed Community for each of the colleges at Cal Poly Pomona, as well as communities for undeclared students and Kellogg Honors students. Programming and events are centered around community building, first year success, and connecting to your college’s faculty and staff. Community placements are:

First Year, First Step

First Year, First Step (FYFS) sets freshman students up for success through a series of curated events. By participating in FYFS, residents will have access to social gatherings, educational programming, and exposure to leadership and involvement opportunities.

Suites Themed Communities

The suites are home to students who are second year and above- students in these communities will take part in special events based around the building theme, student success, and community building.

Center for Regenerative Studies

Riverfront and Sunspace, two passive solar residence halls, are located on the 16-acre site overlooking campus. The hillside setting offers a peaceful environment surrounded by natural scenery of water gardens and fruit bearing trees. The grounds also serve as a laboratory for both students interested in environmental issues and students minoring in Regenerative studies.
