Subject: Expectations for Student Organizations COVID-19

With the fall semester underway, we need to share critical information about COVID-19 expectations with you as members of a registered student organization at Cal Poly Pomona.
Given current conditions, the Los Angeles County of Department of Public Health is restricting in-person activities at colleges and universities. Until further notice, all in-person gatherings of any size hosted and/or coordinated by the University, Students, and Clubs & Organizations and members of the Fraternity & Sorority Life Community are prohibited; the prohibition extends to gatherings on and off-campus. This expectation is guided by the university's commitment to protecting health and well-being and guidelines and recommendations set forth by the CSU Chancellor's Office and state and local public health agencies.
Cal Poly Pomona strives to foster a safe and comfortable environment for students, faculty, and staff, especially during these difficult times. As members of the university community, we should all feel empowered to keep our campus safe. We recognize the challenges virtual instruction brings to maintaining community, but we encourage you to continue to hold meetings and events in the virtual space.
We recommend you review the University's Safer Return website for critical updates and the COVID-19 Compliance Guidelines developed by the Office of Student Conduct and Integrity. Guidelines are in effect to foster a safe learning environment during the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. Student organizations may be subject to disciplinary action for failure to abide by campus policies through the Office of Student Conduct & Integrity.
It is important for everyone to understand that we are in this together. We must all be committed to protecting the health and personal well-being of others within our communities. We want you to know that we are committed to partnering to support Recognized Student Organizations, in upholding the guidance. We invite your partnership in this process, as it will take all of us, working collaboratively, to slow the spread of COVID-19.
