Spring Break - Staying Safe

Subject: Spring Break - Staying Safe
Dear Students,
Spring Break is fast approaching, taking place from March 27th – April 2nd. While we have made significant progress in slowing the spread of COVID-19, it is important that we continue to adhere to state and local guidelines, as well as familiar recommendations from the CDC:
- Wear a face covering or mask in public
- Keep a minimum of 6 feet away from others
- Avoid crowds and poorly ventilated spaces
- Frequently wash your hands for at least 20 seconds
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces
Spring Break is typically a time of travel for our students. Due to the continued risk travel poses to increased spread, we recommend delaying all non-essential travel over break. If you must travel, be sure to follow and understand LA County travel advisories, which includes the following recommendations:
- Travel locally, within a 120-mile radius.
- Get tested 1-3 days prior to traveling and 3-5 days after returning. Don't travel if your test is positive. If your test is positive upon return, inform close contacts of potential exposure and isolate for a minimum of 10 days.
- A 10 day quarantine is required upon return to LA County after travel outside of California, even with a negative or no COVID-19 test.
I hope you can use Spring Break to take a break from classes, relax, and recharge. Resources are available, including the newly launched YOU at CPP wellness platform, and the Safer Return website will continually provide updates related to COVID-19 protocols and procedures.
Sincerely,
Christina Gonzales
