Student Life & Involvement

Associated Students, Inc. is a non-profit corporation serving students on many levels. There are numerous ways that ASI impacts your life as a student, including the operation of the Bronco Student Center (BSC), the Bronco Recreation and Intramural Complex (BRIC), the Children’s Center and much more.

ASI provides leadership development through student government, student-led programming, student employment, and student involvement in a wide array of programs and services. Students are also supported by ASI's annual funding contributions for student clubs and organizations, diversity programs, athletic scholarships and academic support programs.

Athletics competes at the NCAA Division II level in the following programs:

Students can attend regular season games at Kellogg Arena, Kellogg Field, and Scolinos Field for FREE with their Bronco ID! Get involved in other ways, including The Herd fan club, Pep Band, or the Bronco Cheer and Broncettes Dance team.

The BRIC is a 165,000 square-foot recreation center at Cal Poly Pomona, operated by ASI through its Campus Recreation department. In addition to a gym, the BRIC goes above and beyond in intramural recreation services. 

This includes intramural sports leagues, personal or group training, swimming and other aquatic programs, a massive indoor rock climbing wall, SCUBA certification courses, sports clubs, youth programs and so much more. 

You already have access to the BRIC as a currently enrolled student, so take advantage of all the facility has to offer!

BEAT creates programs that grow student engagement, CPP school spirit and personal development through both live and virtual entertainment. BEAT, through ASI, is run by representatives from the student body, with an ongoing responsiblity to stay current with popular trends and implement events and progarms that help create connections. 

Many CPP traditions are organized by BEAT, including Midnight Madness, Fesitval of Animals, Unwind with ASI and BroncoFusion. In the virtual space, BEAT hosts home cooking tutorials, DJ dance parties, Q&A sessions, and more. 

You can volunteer with BEAT to assist in event planning and coordination, providing a unique experience in event programming that can go on your resume.

The Bronco LEAD program, run through OSLCC, supports a variety of student leadership opportunities through collaboration with academic and Student Affairs departments, recognizing successful student leadership and fostering the natural leader in each Cal Poly Pomona student.

Students who join the Bronco LEAD program will complete cirriculum aimed at cultivating leadership and equip themselves with essential skills to use in their future career. At the annual LEADership conference, students participate in leadership driven workshops and connect with peers and professionals to better understand their development.

Annually over 300 clubs and organizations are recognized and range in interests from academic to sports to multiculturalism. Clubs on campus are supported by OSLCC and ASI, and are a great way to get involved and connected with the campus community.

myBAR is the online database of all recognized clubs and organizations on campus. There, clubs can recruit new members, inform current members and network. Students are also able to track their co-curricular involvement at CPP and build a resume to be used when applying for jobs, internships, or graduate school!

Dining on campus is operated by the Cal Poly Pomona Foundation, which supports a number of restaurants, quick service and grab-and-go food areas including Starbucks, Lollicup, Centerpointe Dining Hall, PolyTrolley (CPP's own food truck) and more.

Cal Poly Pomona Greek Life is a community of Fraternities and Sororities with a mission to develop individual leaders, while creating an enriching overall college experience. Joining a fraternity or sorority on campus can help make the transition to college easier and build lifelong relationships with those in the Greek Life community.

Events throughout the year focus on education, community service, philanthropy and community building through brotherhood and sisterhood events and celebrations.

One of the most traditional programs in the history of Cal Poly Pomona, the Rose Float program offers a unique experience for every student. Students at both CPP and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo collaborate on the design, engineering, construction and decoration of a unique float to be showcased during the famous Rose Parade in Pasadena.

Over the last 72 years, Cal Poly Rose Float has been awarded a total of 60 awards/trophies (about 83% of all participating years).

University Housing Services operates three living options: Residential Halls, Residential Suites, and The Lyle Center for Regenerative Studies. Within the Residential Halls and Suites, there are Themed Living Communities with social and educational events and workshops offered each semester. Students are able to discuss a variety of topics including multiculturalism, diversity, personal development, and wellbeing, all while engaging with their peers within the campus community.

The Cal Poly Pomona Foundation operates a separate housing option called University Village, comprised of apartment style student housing for mature college students.
