Marysol Mendoza Appointed Director of Care Services

Marysol Mendoza, MSW, has been appointed Director of Care Services effective Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023. In this role, Marysol will be responsible for overseeing the Care Center as well as general initiatives around student support. Marysol is an alum of Cal Poly Pomona, having earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a concentration in Social Work and a Minor in Business Law from CPP. She also holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California and is currently pursuing her Doctor of Social Work at Simmons University.

Marysol was most recently an Assistant Dean of Student Success and Retention at Whittier College where she led various departments including Housing, Conduct, Student Engagement, and Veteran Resource Services, all while fostering campus-wide collaboration and wellness initiatives.

During her time at Whittier College, she also served as the Director of CARE, Case Management, and Residential Wellness where she demonstrated her dedication to supporting students in crisis, developing intervention plans, and building essential partnerships within the college community while exhibiting a deep commitment to equity and inclusion.
