CAASPP Early Assessment Program
The Early Assessment Program (EAP) was established to provide opportunities for students to measure their readiness for college-level English and mathematics in their junior year of high school, and to facilitate opportunities for them to improve their skills during their senior year.
Use of CAASPP EAP Test Results
Current high school seniors participated in the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) in English Language Arts/Literature and mathematics during the spring semester of their junior year. For 2017, the test period was January 10 to July 17. The California State University (CSU) uses CAASPP EAP results only to determine course placement in English and/or mathematics for first-time freshmen. Students who apply to the CSU and released their CAASPP EAP test scores will have them matched automatically. Cal Poly Pomona applicants may check their BroncoDirect portal to verify their CAASPP EAP scores are on file.
CAASPP EAP test results:
- Standard Exceeded = Ready Status (Level 4)
- Standard Met = Conditionally Ready Status (Level 3)
- Standard Nearly Met = Not Yet Demonstrating Readiness (Level 2)
- Standard Not Met = Not Demonstrating Readiness (Level 1)
