Summer 2026 Application Information

The dates for the Summer 2026 program are May 27, 2026 - July 31, 2026.
Applications are due February 15, 2026.

To be eligible for the REU program, students must

be U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, or U.S. permanent residents;
be currently enrolled (part-time or full-time) in a degree program leading to a baccalaureate or associate degree;
plan to be enrolled (part-time or full-time) in the fall following the summer REU program in a degree program leading to a baccalaureate or associate degree;
have at least a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale); and
have completed a multivariable calculus ("Calculus 3") course.

The following items are required as part of the online application:

a personal statement (not to exceed two pages using single spacing, 1 inch margins, and 12 point font) detailing relevant coursework, programming experience, research experience, motivation and expectations for the REU program, and post-baccalaureate plans;
unofficial undergraduate transcript(s);
two letters of recommendation; and
completion of a set of online short-answer questions providing information about expertise in various programming languages, class standing, major, GPA, and preferred REU project topic.
