  1. Exhibition Proposal Summary/Introduction: 2-4 paragraphs about what the exhibition would be about. For group exhibitions please indicate what the group mission, group vision or the aesthetic connections between group members is. This is needed in order to clearly understand the exhibition’s purpose or intent to determine if it is effectual for the campus audience and/or its demographics. It may be used to augment a curatorial statement or show concept, and for press release/publication purposes.
  2. Artist Statement(s) about the body of work presented by each artist under consideration. Artwork should illustrate the connection or purpose indicated in the Exhibition Proposal Summary. This is needed in order to clearly understand each artist’s connection to the proposed exhibition’s context, and to best understand the artist and their body of artwork in context with the rest of the group of artists proposed. For any solo exhibitions: please do the same in order to understand the artist’s context within the proposal’s intent.
  3. Curriculum Vitae for each artist under consideration.
  4.  Image Checklist of all artworks available with complete caption info for each artwork under consideration. Each artwork listed should fulfill a purpose in expressing, or augmenting, the exhibition proposal and its intent. Each artist should be provided on a separate list of their own. It is always recommended to have a few extra artworks on the list (a tier two of alternate works), in case there is are artworks that become unavailable over time, or to allow adequate alternative curation selections to be made.
  5. 5-6 high-resolution images of best representation of variety of artworks proposed for the exhibition for publication purposes.
  6. 1 high-resolution image of each participating artist chosen to exhibit for publication purposes (formal portrait, informal, artsy, artist in studio, etc.).

Special Needs: List any special needs to display or hang work.  Estimated size of sculpture stands needed. Electrical equipment or outlet needed. (Work must be ready to hang by showtime.)

Insurance Replacement Value: $ (Cost to replace artwork incl. labor and materials)

Artist’s Price: $ Artist remuneration if artwork is for sale. If not for sale: indicate with “NFS”.

Gallery will automatically add a 25% commission to Artist’s Price listed above.

Insert artwork image: a low-resolution, but clear/good quality photo of artwork: min. 3” (in one direction, wide or tall)

If artwork is in progress: Place an image of a work in progress or proposed image sketch.

 

To Submit a Proposal...

Please send all Exhibition Proposal components together (carefully following steps 1-6) or in a sequence of emails to University Art Galleries via email at: artgalleries@cpp.edu with “ Exhibition Proposal” written in the Subject Line.

After all Exhibition Proposal steps are followed and deliverables provided, no other actions are needed. Proposals will be reviewed and held for 3 years for possible consideration.
