CSU announces continuation of primarily virtual instruction through end of academic year
In line with the CSU’s ongoing effort to protect the health and safety of our faculty, staff, and students, today Chancellor White announced that CSU campuses will continue the current learning model of primarily virtual instruction through the remainder of the 2020-21 academic year. Likewise, the policy of limited exceptions for in-person activities and reduced on-campus populations will also continue. From the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the CSU has worked closely with state and local public health officials to guide our decisions at the system and campus levels. And while statewide efforts to control the virus have seen improvements in infection rates, uncertainty around the availability of a potential vaccine, the upcoming annual flu season, and the impacts from the devastating wildfires currently burning across the state make a compelling case to continue with primarily virtual instruction.
Cal Poly Pomona has been planning carefully for this possibility, and the Office of the Provost is well underway in working with the Deans to prepare for a virtual spring schedule. We will continue to update the campus community regularly on these plans as they are finalized.
