Office of the President

Appointment of Brandon Tuck to Interim Presidential Associate

December 20, 2023

Dear Campus Community,

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Brandon Tuck to the role of Interim Presidential Associate for Community Partnerships and Expanding Access.

In his role, Dr. Tuck will lead and direct the Office of Outreach, Recruitment and Educational Partnerships and serve as a liaison for Cal Poly Pomona to K-12 schools, community colleges and other community organizations to strengthen relationships, develop and enhance student enrollment pathways and shape program development. He will also lead and promote creative outreach and engagement programs for historically underrepresented and underserved communities, as well as collaborate with our colleges and units across the campus to support the success of diverse student populations.

Dr. Tuck previously served as Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management and Admissions. His career in higher education spans over 18 years. He has worked at both private and state university systems focused on outreach and admissions. He also served as the Director of Admissions here at CPP. Before joining CPP, Dr. Tuck served in administrative roles at California State University, Long Beach and Claremont Graduate University. He holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Howard University, a Master’s in Business Administration from The Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate University, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Cal Poly Pomona.

As you may recall, Dr. Reginald Blaylock assumed some of these same responsibilities in a differently configured role. Following his retirement, the Presidential Associate role was vacant for some time. I want to thank Brandon for stepping into this interim role to work across the divisions and colleges in ensuring that Cal Poly Pomona is taking proactive and coordinated approaches to strengthening our enrollments and broadening student access to CPP in the face of ever-increasing competition. He will report directly to me and work closely with the Deans, Provost, the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management and Services on a range of strategic outreach and engagement initiatives.

I wish you all a restful and restorative winter break.

Sincerely,

Soraya M. Coley,
Ph.D. President
