Learn to develop conservation strategies to protect vulnerable ecosystems and inform decision makers.

Courses

The Environmental Biology major prepares you to help solve the environmental problems threatening organisms and life support systems of our planet. You can specialize in either of two emphases: Ecology, Conservation, and Biodiversity (ECB) or Environmental Microbiology (EM). Each emphasis consists of interdisciplinary courses in areas such as biology, chemistry, geographic information systems and public policy. All students also conduct independent research projects or complete internships with a participating agency or private organization.
