COVID-19 Self Reporting
Students, Faculty, Staff, and visitors who expect to have COVID-19 or are experiencing COVID-19-like symptoms should stay away from other and it is recommended to get tested.

COVID-19 Symptoms
- Fever or chilld
- Cough
- Shortness of breath/difficulty breathing
- New loss of taste or smell
- Fatigue
- Runny or stuffy nose
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- Sore throat
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
If symptoms are not COVID-19 related, staff members shall monitor their symptoms and consider recommended steps per LACDPH when attending campus.
Report COVID-19 Case or Exposure
CPP Students, Faculty, Staff should usse the Self-Reporting form if you are reporting any of these:
- Experiencing COVID-19 symptoms
- Recent positive COVID-19 test (within 14 days)
- Ordered by local Public Health Department or medical department to quarantine/isolate
Cal Poly Pomona COVID-19 Safety Guidance
Cal Poly Pomona is required to follow the isolation and quarantine requirements issued by the Los Angeles Department of Public Health (LACDPH), the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), and Cal/OSHA.
- Symptomatic Positive Cases: Individuals must stay home until they are fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication and symptoms are mild and improving. If returning before Day 10, a mask must be worn around others until Day 10 from symptom onset or positive test date.
- Asymptomatic Positive Cases: No isolation is required, but individuals must wear a well-fitting, high-quality mask for 10 days from the positive test date.
- Employees should follow standard departmental attendance reporting procedures for any absences.
- Isolation does not automatically grant telecommuting. Contact your HEERA Manager for work-related questions.

Cal Poly Pomona EHS can provide high-grade masks, including KN95 and N95, to students and employees at no cost. Individuals returning from COVID-19 must wear a mask until Day 10, as outlined above.
Effective April 6, 2023, in alignment with the CSU COVID-19 Vaccination and Safety Measure Policy all students and employees accessing the campus and university programs, are strongly recommended and not required to be up to date with their COVID-19 vaccines.
Individuals who intend to be vaccinated should follow COVID-19 vaccine recommendations adopted by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) applicable to their age, medical condition, and other relevant indications. Individuals may choose to upload their vaccine documentation to MyHealthPortal.
Weekly testing at Cal Poly Pomona will no longer be required by the university for individuals who are not up to date in their COVID-19 vaccination. Medical exemptions, religious exemptions and self-attestations will also no longer be required.
All students living in University Housing and the University Village as well as student-athletes should review all other required vaccines on the Student Health website.
