After an impressive and successful career as an auto dealer, Ron Gregoire devotes his time to supporting his community and the university. He graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1971, became a certified public accountant and began auditing car dealerships. Following the purchase of Cerritos Ford, Gregoire acquired Lincoln Mercury, Infiniti and Isuzu dealerships, which consistently rank among the top sellers in California. He was twice named a director of the California Motor Car Dealers Association and served on the exclusive Lincoln Mercury Future Product Development Committee.
Through the dealerships, Gregoire provided two vans annually to the Los Angeles Police Department for its community youth services program. He also sponsored youth athletic leagues and contributed to charities, local civic organizations and performing arts groups.
Gregoire is a generous donor to the university and endowed a scholarship in the College of Business Administration. In 1996, he was inducted into the Accounting Hall of Fame and named a Distinguished Alumnus in 2001. He previously served on the University Educational Trust.
In 2012, the College of Business Administration dedicated the new 90,000 square-foot building and complex in recognition of his financial support during the “Make Your Mark” campaign and exemplary leadership.
Gregoire has four children. He enjoys traveling, playing golf and tennis, skiing and splitting his time between Palm Desert and Nevada.
