CSU-LSAMP Scholars Program

CSU-LSAMP has implemented a Student Scholar’s Program designed to increase the number of LSAMP students that enter graduate STEM programs by supporting undergraduate CSU-LSAMP students who have declared this interest in pursuing graduate study in STEM fields. The program provides students with up to $2,000 to support travel to visit graduate schools and to attend national research conferences. In addition, funds can be used to support graduate school applications, GRE preparation and research supplies.

General Eligibility and Selection Criteria

Applicants to the CSU-LSAMP Scholars Program must be upper-division students who have participated in LSAMP activities prior to submission of the application. Applicants must also be enrolled at a CSU institution as of Fall 2010 and be enrolled at a CSU campus for at least one semester or two (2) quarter terms of the academic year 2011-2012.

All applicants must be either U.S. citizens or permanent residents at the time of application. Previous CSU- LSAMP Scholars are not eligible to re-apply. Each applicant must have a faculty sponsor from the student’s home campus who will be available for the duration of the plan specified in the application. The program is designed for students interested in obtaining research degrees. Students interested in obtaining professional degrees (law, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, or an MBA degree or teaching credential) are not eligible.

Student receiving funds from any other federal grants are not eligible for this award.
