Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs

Alcohol and other Drug Education and Sanctions Options

Violations of campus Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug (ATOD) policies may result in a variety of sanctions, depending on the referring entity of the department involved with the student. While each referring agent may require a unique assignment or instruction, Student Health and Wellness Services (SHWS) oversees a variety of ATOD education and sanction options, listed below. If you wish to make a referral to Student Conduct and Integrity regarding a student's misuse or abuse of alcohol, tobacco or other drugs, please review their information.

At no time should a student be assigned the same fee-based course more than once.

Prevention and Educational Tools

The Alcohol e-CheckUpToGo is an interactive EDUCATIONAL web assessment that allows CPP students to enter information about their drinking patterns and receive feedback about their use of alcohol compared to their peers on campus. The assessment takes about 10-15 minutes to complete, is self-guided, and requires no face-to-face contact time with a counselor or administrator. Because it is offered online, the eCHECKUP TO GO program can provide quick, confidential feedback in multiple settings. This also allows a student to complete a personal 'check-up' on multiple occasions to track changes in use and risk behavior.

In addition, the site administrator can receive notification when an individual has completed their assignment PROVIDING THE STUDENT SELECTS THE BUTTON "VERIFY COMPLETION", thus verifying their compliance for a sanction. Or the student may print out their "Certificate of Completion" without having to send in a formal verification. The annual fee for the program is paid by Student Health and Wellness Services.
