REU in Big Data Security and Privacy

NSF REU Site on Big Data Security and Privacy @ Cal Poly Pomona

This Research for Undergraduates (REU) site on big data security and privacy is sponsored by National Science Foundation. It is located in the Computer Science and Computer Information Systems Department, California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, CA. The REU site will take place in the summer and host 10 students. It will last about 10 weeks. We have 10 weeks carefully planned for REU students so that they gain the most in both research and professional development.

Goals:

  1. Provide a 10-week summer research experience to undergraduate students that addresses big data security and privacy problems.
  2. Develop students’ research skills through training and mentoring.
  3. Expose students to cutting edge big data security research problems.
  4. Provide students with immersive research experiences with lab activities, seminars, etc.
  5. Increase students’ awareness and strengthen students’ skills in applying for graduate study in cybersecurity or computing in general.

Participants Benefit:

Financial Package totaling over $9500, which includes

  • Stipend

  • Relocation travel to/from Cal Poly Pomona
