Master's Degree in Business Analytics
The MS in Business Analytics consists of 12 graduate level courses totaling 33 credits. This program is offered in a hybrid format and is designed for students and business professionals who want to have a mastery understanding of business analytics related subjects. Graduates from this program will be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge in database, statistics, optimization, and decision theories, and be equipped with skills in Python/R, data warehousing, data mining, text mining and web analytics, big data analytics, and business modeling etc. The program focuses on the implication of business analytics on various business functional areas and prepares students with competencies to lead data-driven organization changes.
This MSBA program emphasizes both the technical and the application perspectives of Business Analytics. Graduates from this program will be able to: 1. lead organizational changes with data driven decision making; 2. proficiently use programming and database tools for descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics; 3. demonstrate in-depth knowledge in data analytics theories and develop an ability to further explore problems. The learning outcomes are fully aligned with CPP’s polytechnic approach. Most importantly, the program closely follows the urgent work force needs in business analytics.
CIS Undergraduate Option in Analytics
College of Business students in the Computer Information Systems (CIS) option can select an emphasis in Business Intelligence. Along with Business Core requirements, CIS BI emphasis students take two required courses (6 units):
- CIS 2670 - IT Infrastructure (3)
- CIS 4321 - Data Mining (3)
Students need to complete three elective courses in analytics (9 units):
- CIS 3350 - Location Analytics for Business (3)
- CIS 3454 - Data Warehousing (3)
- CIS 3650 - Digital Analytics (3)
- CIS 4567 - Big Data Analytics (3)
- CIS 4680 - Advanced Data Analytics (3)
