  1. Awarded Admin Fund Award ($1000) for presenting “How Do Consumers Form Their Intentions to Wear a Mask During Their Stay in Coffee Shops?,” at the 2022 Western Decision Sciences Institute – 50th Annual Meeting, April 4-8, 2022, Division of Student Affairs, Cal Poly Pomona, Jeffrey Hsu.
  2.   3. Won first place for the Business, Economics, and Computer Science track at the 10th Annual CPP Student RSCA Conference, Cal Poly Pomona, March 5, 2022, for research titled, “Application of the Theory of Planned Behavior: An Analysis of Generational Attitudes Towards Realistic Portrayals of Women in Advertising” and earned a ticket to represent Cal Poly Pomona at the 36th Annual CSU Student Research Competition to be held virtually on April 29-30th, 2022, by Vivian Graft, Britney Ly, and Krystal Serrano.

  1. Secured a research grant ($8,000) for the project proposal, “Let’s Be Real: Millennials and Gen-Z Are Defining New Expectations for Women in Advertising and Brands Need to Catch Up,” From LTD Program, Cal Poly Pomona, September 3, 2021, by Britney Ly, Vivian Graft, Krystal Serrano, and Wendy Sujarit.
  2. Secured a research grant ($8,000) for the project proposal, “Shaping COVID-19 Hygiene Perceptions,” From LTD Program, Cal Poly Pomona, May 12, 2021, by Hallie Huang, Emily Harrison, Jeffrey Hsu, Alan Pham, Aksha Baratan, and Rachel Cifranic.
  3. Cailin Kuchenbecker, a former RA (2017-2018; 2019-2021), obtained an MBA and was admitted into Ph.D. in Communications at Chapman University, Fall 2021.
  4. Awarded a Research Distinction Award, for distinction in research, presentation, and publication activities, April 30, 2021, Cal Poly Pomona, recognized by Office of Undergraduate Research, (Jillian Munoz).

  7. Won First Place at 2021 GfK NextGen Data Science Hackathon, held March 22 - March 31, 2021, for the team’s proposed EV/hybrid car service named Ion Upcycle, by Jillian N. Munoz, Patrick Ogaz, Sebastian Hernadez, Andrea Vara Escobar, and Grant Chic.
  8. Won Runners-Up at 2021 GfK NextGen Data Science Hackathon, held March 22 - March 31, 2021, for the team’s proposed EV wireless charging technology service called ElecTrak, by Nicholas Bias, Joseph Lee, Tarek Masri, Mario Pinto, and Claire Son.
  9. Finalist at 2021 GfK NextGen Data Science Hackathon, held March 22 – March 31, 2021, for the team’s proposed smart car tech product named, roamEV, by Derek Suen, Hallie Huang, Elaine Oh, Robert Tinti, and Vincent Torossian.
  10. Won First Place for the Business, Economics, and Hospitality Management track at the 9th Annual CPP Student RSCA Conference, Cal Poly Pomona, March 6, 2021, for research titled, “Does State Ethnocentrism Influence the Attitudes and Purchase Intentions formed on Locally-Branded Products?” and earned a ticket to represent Cal Poly Pomona at the 35th Annual CSU Student Research Competition to be held virtually on April 30th, 2021, by Jillian Munoz and Jarrod Griffin.

  2. Awarded with Honorable Mention Award for the Best Conference Paper for the paper entitled, “Does Telic/Paratelic User Mode Matter on the Effectiveness of Interactive Internet Advertising? A Reversal Theory Perspective,” in the 2012 Global Marketing Conference, held Seoul, Korea, with Michel Hui; An article from this project was recently accepted into Journal of Business Research, ranked #1 among marketing journals according to Google scholar (h5-index = 94).
