Our Center cannot issue permission numbers for any courses.

The department who offers the course you’re trying to add will give you a permission number if available and only if you meet the prerequisites. You can find contact information by navigating to the appropriate college and department website. You will make your request to the faculty member (instructor) of the course, if they are listed on BroncoDirect, or the department's staff.

Make sure to provide them with your Bronco ID number and the class/section number of the course you're requesting a permission number for.

The coursework you are required to complete to earn your degree is called your curriculum. Your curriculum is based on the academic year that you began your current major. You can find this information at the top of your Degree Progress Report (DPR) on BroncoDirect. The Bronco Advising Center has a YouTube tutorial, Viewing Your DPR and Academic Information, if you need help navigating to it. All of this information is found on an official document called the curriculum sheet.

  • Select your curriculum year, select College of Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences, and select your major/option to view the curriculum sheet.

You will continue to follow that specific curriculum regardless of changes to future curriculums for your major that the department makes. Your curriculum year will only change if you change your major or if you petition to change your curriculum year.
