About Me

I am a teaching professor and researcher specializing in body composition, mood, and blood nutrient value changes using various nutrients/components and foods at Cal Poly Pomona University.

I have over 13 years of experience designing experimental studies, mostly clinical trials with both graduate and undergraduate students. The studies involve body composition, mood, and blood nutrient value changes utilizing the ingestion of various nutrients/components and foods (especially n-3 fatty acids).

I perform community nutrition research with students for community nutrition interventions, mentoring programs, and student success improvement, and worked with disadvantaged, diverse populations and students. I have published with colleagues from Loma Linda University, Cornell University, University of California Davis, and California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo. I am also a teaching Professor of research, nutritional metabolism, vegetarian nutrition, and Nutrition through the lifecycle, and have taught Nutrition graduate classes in the DBH CoAg MS in Agriculture for 16 years.
