About Dr. Brown

Greetings,

With almost 25 years of industry experience in Cyber Security, Networking, System Administration, and Project Management, I have a very well-rounded grasp on the Information Technology industry. Couple this with my exposure to multiple industries including Entertainment, Healthcare, Finance, Banking, Integration, Aerospace, and Government, and I bring a multitude of perspectives to the classroom. At Cal Poly, I have taught a multitude of classes in the CIS department of the College of Business Administration. My current assignments include CIS 4670 (Network Security) and CIS 4710 (Internet Security. The latter is my favorite class as I have developed it steadily over many years. The Title "Internet Security" is VERY misleading. In essence, it is an Ethical Hacking Class. I pride myself on assisting and mentoring students to help them with their future goals. This includes help / advice on career searches, independent research, and graduate school selection.

I hope to have you in one of my classes and if you already are, I must say you are in for a treat!

Best.

Dr. B.
