About Me

Emily Kiresich, PhD, MPH, MS, RDN, CHES ®, FAND, Assistant Professor of Nutrition, Nutrition and Food Science Department, Cal Poly Pomona. In addition to her teaching and research, Dr. Kiresich is the Director of the Didactic Program in Dietetics. Her research has centered on population health and nutrition, including food access, education, and intervention. She is also interested in the student environment and how to help the Dietetics profession meet its goal of becoming more diverse, supporting all student graduates to succeed in the nutrition profession. With colleagues at CPP she has researched various aspects of the educational environment and stress response. She serves as the Vice President of Education for the CA Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (2023-2025), past Community Nutrition Chair, Treasurer, and Nominating Committee for the Orange District of the CA Academy. She strongly believes in service and advocacy in her profession and population health. She earned an MPH (Biostatistics) and a PhD in Health Promotion Sciences and Public Health at Claremont Graduate University. At California State University, Long Beach, Dr Kiresich graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics, a Dietetic Internship, and a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition. Previously, she was a Lecturer at California State University, Long Beach, where she had the opportunity to teach many courses and is the immediate past director of the Didactic Program in Dietetics (DP), and she has directed the Individualized Supervised Practice Pathway (ISPP) (2013-2015).
