About my research

Dr. Tang is the founder of the Intelligent Robotics Lab (IRLab) here at Cal Poly Pomona. Her research interests include multi-robot systems, human-robot interaction/cooperation, unmanned systems, machine learning, and educational robotics. Her dissertation research (2006) on ASyMTRe, a system for automating solution generation for multi-robot teams, is widely recognized by the multi-robot research community. In recent years, she has extended her research in unmanned systems (aerial, ground and underwater). She has built strong collaborations with faculty from multiple departments from the College of Enginneering. Together they obtained fundings from the National Science Foundation (NSF), Northrop Grumman Corporation, and Boeing to support their multi-disciplinary research. She has over 30 refereed journal, conference papers, book chapters, and presentations. About 400 citations on Google Scholar.

Some of my current research activities include working with the Boston Dynamics' Spot robot on various projects: playing tic-tac-toe, package delivery, trash picking, playing catch, surveillance, LLM with Spot, etc.
