Who I am.

I’m deeply committed to advancing the field of construction engineering and management, with a focus on project delivery methods, contracts and procurement, risk management, and quality management. Over the years, I’ve led and collaborated on more than 20 nationally and state-funded research projects sponsored by organizations such as the National Academies of Science (NCHRP and ACRP), National Science Foundation, Construction Industry Institute, and several state DOTs. This work has resulted in national guidebooks, legal digests, and over 75 peer-reviewed publications, including an ASCE book on alternative project delivery methods. My research has been featured at major conferences like Construction Research Congress (CRC), Transportation Research Board (TRB), and American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE). I also serve regularly as an invited speaker, editor, and expert panelist with organizations like the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) and TRB. As an educator for over a decade, I teach both foundational and advanced construction engineering courses, integrating real-world industry collaboration, active learning strategies, and experiential programs like micro-internships and PolyX. I’ve played a key role in curriculum development and ABET accreditation for civil engineering programs. Before entering academia, I gained hands-on industry experience in contract administration, procurement, and project coordination for multimillion-dollar infrastructure projects in the power and aviation sectors—including work for a Bechtel subsidiary.
