About Me

Jimmy Macias is a dedicated advocate of design. His mission is to create compelling forms and spaces that resonate within its communities and seek to withstand time. He has twenty-two years of experience spanning nearly nine million square feet of accumulative architectural design work. He has worked closely with many of the industry's top firms and contractors.

Jimmy began his Architecture career as a student at Cal Poly, where he completed his Masters of Architecture degree. Early in his professional career, he sought a path aligning with his roots and beliefs. This led to his work in healthcare and benefitting those in need. That connection was established during his first major international project for the Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi Hospital in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The scale of this two million-square-foot hospital set the tone for his career with other International projects. He soon followed up with another landmark project equal in size, the People's Hospital in the Shunde District in Foshan, China.

Nationally he has worked on many notable healthcare buildings throughout the western united states. Over his career, his passion for design has opened many doors in healthcare and civic fields. Through these experiences, Jimmy has gained a broad perspective on design and how this process can enrich the environment through captivating solutions. He seeks to share these skills with his students by channeling his energy and optimism to inspire creative and insightful work that reflects the artistry and prestige of Cal Poly Pomona.
