About Me

Jason Turcotte (Ph.D., Louisiana State University) is an Associate Professor of Communication. He received his B.A. in Communication and Political Science from Roger Williams University, and his M.A. in Media, Culture, and Communication from New York University. He teaches primarily in the Multimedia Journalism option, is advisor to  The Poly Post, and co-leads a Media & Politics Research Team.

Prior to teaching, Professor Turcotte spent several years working as a journalist for various print and online media. His research focuses on how the news media cover campaigns and policy issues. Of particular interest is understanding how news norms and processes influence the agenda of key campaign events, including electoral debates.
