About Me

Dr. Tarique Hossain is a full professor in this department. He has over 20 years of experience in academia and industry, including working as a marketing science analyst in a globally renowned consumer insights firm.

At Cal Poly Pomona, Dr. Hossain teaches both international business and marketing courses, including marketing research, global business, and the MBA marketing seminar. He recently designed a course and authored contents about Personal Branding that has been well received by both MBA and undergraduate students over the last three years. Being true to his international business competency, he also taught courses overseas, namely in China, Germany, and Mexico.

Dr. Hossain is a highly respected teacher and scholar. His eclectic research interests include real estate economics, product pricing, franchising, and foreign direct investment. He has published numerous articles in top academic journals and conferences and is a two-time best paper award winner for his research in real estate economics presented at the American Real Estate Association conferences.


Dr. Hossain's education includes a one-year study program in Norway, an undergraduate degree from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, a master's degree from the University of North Texas, and a PhD in economics from Texas A&M University (College Station) in 1997.
