Uriel Saldivar

Dr. Uriel Saldivar is an Assistant Professor of Management & Human Resources at Cal Poly Pomona. His research intersects leadership, negotiated work arrangements, and remote work and has been published in quality management journals like Group & Organization Management (GOM) and has been presented at major disciplinary conferences like the Society of Industrial & Organizational Psychology (SIOP). Uriel has found great fulfillment in educating the next generation of HR scholars and professionals, which previously resulted in him being awarded the Graduate Student Teaching Award during his doctoral studies at Michigan State University

His interest in management research was largely shaped by his experience serving as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, an organization whose policies are shaped heavily by organizational research and theory. During his time in the service, Uriel saw parallels between leadership and HR concepts he was learning in school and what he experienced, strengthening his interest in improving and researching the domain of work.
