Leverage Opportunities for Graduate Research and Resources (LOGRAR)/Promoting Postbaccalaureate Opportunities for Hispanic Americans (PPOHA) Scholarship

 Award amount: $5,000
Application opens: October 1st, 2021.
Deadline to submit: October 31, 2021 at 11:59 PM PST

This scholarship is for the 2021-2022 academic year. Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, the LOGRAR Project at Cal Poly Pomona is dedicated to supporting underrepresented and low-income graduate students attain postbaccalaureate degrees. All CPP graduate students who meet eligibility requirements are encouraged to apply. Students can only receive one $5,000 award during their graduate studies at Cal Poly Pomona.

Requirements for the scholarship:

1. Must be an enrolled master’s or Ed.D student in Fall 2021
2. Must be enrolled at Cal Poly-Pomona full-time in Fall 2021 (6 units minimum) and have previously been enrolled for at least one semester
3. Overall minimum 3.0 GPA
4. Must submit one letter of recommendation from a Cal Poly Pomona Faculty Advisor
5. Must have a FAFSA application on file with CPP
6. Must be a U.S citizen, or permanent resident (international students are not eligible to apply)
7. Must demonstrate financial need as determined by the 2021-22 FAFSA Application
8. Interested students must submit a Statement of Intent (1000-word max.) that includes:
   • Details of student’s long term career goals
   • Description of the student’s motivation and initiative in pursuit of career goals
   • Explanation of the impact a LOGRAR scholarship will have in helping them achieve their career goals  
   • A discussion of any other relevant information that the selection committee should consider in their decision

Selected students will be asked to submit a Thank You letter upon scholarship offer.
