
About the Program
Channel your love of food and nutrition into helping people live healthier lives, making discoveries about diet and disease, or pre-professional training for students who plan to apply for medical school, pharmacy school, or other medical programs. A bachelor's degree in nutrition can lead to graduate school and careers as a registered dietitian, registered dietetic technician, health coach, registered healthcare professional, researcher or scientist, teacher, consumer advocate, and more.
The Polytechnic Approach
Build a strong foundation in biology and chemistry, then dive into analysis and experimentation with food in our kitchens and labs. Learn basic culinary techniques to create diets that meet different dietary needs, work with industry-standard software, conduct dietary and health assessments, and work in the community to create culturally relevant healthier habits. Through these hands-on courses and service-learning opportunities, you will be well-prepared for graduate studies, dietetic internships or careers in the science, food industry, healthcare and wellness fields.

Courses
The Nutrition program has options in Dietetics, Nutrition Science, and Nutrition and Health. Nutrition Science offers emphases in Animal Nutrition and Pre-Professional. Nutrition and Health offers emphases is Nutrition and Health and Health Coach. Our undergraduate programs prepare students for challenging and rewarding careers in the professional fields of Nutrition and Dietetics, with opportunities in the private sector as well as government agencies. Our programs also provide a strong academic background for graduate study and research.

The Cheryl L. Loggins Scholarship Endowment is for continuing undergraduate seniors majoring in nutrition who are interested in the studies of dietetics.
