AMM Student Part of Winning Team in Canadian Competition

Natalie Schwarz was one of two Cal Poly Pomona apparel merchandising and management students who signed up for the Canadian Retail Education Association’s 4th Annual Charrette competition on Nov. 16. The competition is an interdisciplinary team-learning experience that challenges students from U.S. and Canadian universities to solve realistic business problems.

"Future Fridays" Series Helps Students Network

A panel discussion series helped Huntley College of Agriculture students network with industry leaders this fall despite coronavirus restrictions. The college started the “Future Friday” series of panel discussions with industry leaders in early October. The panel discussions were held over the Zoom video conferencing platform on Fridays at noon over a seven-week period, each featuring a different industry.

Students Showcase Food Product Development Projects

With Coronavirus safety guidelines preventing most labs from meeting in person, the students in FST 4290L, Food Product Development Lab, couldn’t develop products as they normally would in the Building 7 food processing labs. Instead, it was a conceptual exercise they conducted at home – but with strict, rigorous expectations. The students presented their products during a Dec. 3 showcase on Zoom.

Six horses bred at the W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Center took first place or other top honors this fall at a national competition.
