Summer Bridge

Program Goals: Summer Bridge is designed to assist participants with getting a head start in their college journey, building support systems with faculty, staff, and peers, and gaining essential skills that will facilitate their transition and success at Cal Poly Pomona.

Program Cost: FREE to the student. The program offers a range of resources and support services at no cost to students, as fees are covered by university funding. To fully benefit from SB, we encourage students to actively engage in all that SB has to offer. 

Admitted incoming EOP first-year students are invited to learn more about Summer Bridge via email in early May and are provided the Summer Bridge Information Module. Only after the student has completed the SB Information Module, they are provided with additional information regarding the SB program application process. 

Selection to Summer Bridge is based on students responses and timely submission of required documents. To be fully considered, all CPP, EOP, and SB deadlines must be met.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1. Submit EOP Partnership Agreement
   1. If admitted to EOP at Cal Poly Pomona, you will receive an email notification with instructions on how to submit your EOP Partnership Agreement (EPA). In order to be invited to Summer Bridge, students must be fully admitted to EOP and meet all EOP program deadlines. 
      • If you have any questions regarding your EOP admissions status, please email eopadmin@cpp.edu. Provide your 9-digit Bronco ID number and full name in the email.
2. Be available to attend all SB program dates
   1. SB 2026 Program Dates: July 6th - July 23rd (Sunday - Thursday)
      • SB is a structured program, where students must live on campus during the Residential Component (Week 1 & Week 2: July 6th - July 16th) and commute during the Commuter Component (Week 3: July 20th - July 23rd) and must be fully committed to our program partnership, as failure to do so may result in program dismissal. 
        • No Excused Absences: Students will not be excused for any personal appointments and are encouraged to plan ahead of time to be present during all 3-weeks of SB. 
        • Attend a Freshmen Orientation date before the start of SB 2026 (July 6, 2026). During Orientation Day students get to register for Fall classes, so it is recommended to attend one of the earliest available dates. 
3. Complete Summer Bridge Information Module
   1. Deadline to complete Information Module: June 1, 2026 at 12:00pm (Noon)
      • Access to SB Application will be given once the module is completed. 
4. Complete Summer Bridge Application
   1. Deadline to complete application: June 1, 2026 at 11:59pm (Midnight)
      • Applicants must meet all university and EOP deadlines to be considered for acceptance into SB. 

PROVISIONALLY ADMITTANCE NOTIFICATION

Provisionally admitted students will be notified by early June via their CPP and Personal email address. If admitted, students must do the following:

1. Complete SB Partnership Agreement form: In this form students can indicate whether they accept or decline their attendance to the SB program.
   • Only students who complete this step will be officially admitted as part of the SB 2026 cohort. 

To be fully considered, all EOP and Summer Bridge program deadlines and application steps must be met:

1. Complete the Online SB Information Module by June 1, 2026 at 12 pm (noon)
   1. SB Information Module Overview: During this online Module, students will have the opportunity to learn more about SB and the partnership required to commit to this 3-week EOP summer transition program. The module will be self-paced and invited students can access it anytime from May 5 - June 1, 2026 at 12:00pm (noon).
      1. Students are encouraged to monitor their emails daily for additional details on the SB Information Module as SB program is by invitation only to incoming EOP first-year students.
         • NOTE: ACCESS TO SB APPLICATION WILL BE GIVEN UPON COMPLETION OF THE ONLINE SB INFORMATION MODULE. 
2. Submit SB Application by June 1, 2026 at 11:59pm (midnight)
   1. Throughout the application process, students will be asked the following:
      1. General Contact Information
      2. Special Accommodations Needed
      3. Signed Waivers
      4. Short Response Questions

If admitted to SB, students must do the following:

1. Complete the SB Partnership Agreement Form: To indicate whether student accepts or declines their attendance to the SB program.
   1. Due: June 5th @ 11:59pm
      • Participation in SB is not mandatory to be part of EOP.
2. Attend Virtual SB Move-In Day Prep Meeting: To learn more about how to prepare and what items to bring for SB Move-In Day.
   1. Session Dates: June 26th and June 28th via Zoom
