Description: The Early Start Bronco Scholars Program is an exclusive opportunity available this summer (July 13-July 30) for Early Start students who need support in math and/or English and will be starting at Cal Poly Pomona in Fall 2020. During the 3-week online program, students will have the opportunity to:

• Build academic skills to ease transition into their fall General Education (GE) math and English courses
• Upon completion students will receive a $300 book stipend for the Fall term
• Benefit from 1:1 advising/coaching
• Learn about campus resources and how to navigate the university
• Opportunity to make new friends and meet faculty
• Acclimate to online learning and accessing resources virtually
• Get a head start to college life

Open to the General Public: No

Description: Incoming MEP students (both First-time Freshman and Community College Transfers) are supported during the summer before the Fall term through the “Engineering In Your Future” (EIYF) summer program.

Students engage with other members of the MEP cohort, are introduced to their peer mentors, and engage in a series of workshops by both professional staff and engineering industry representatives. These activities are designed to introduce students to various engineering fields, team-building, and community-engagement opportunities.  MEP is designed to guide students’ expectations as they complete their transition from high school or community college and embark on their college experience.

Description: Summer Bridge is a FREE five-week summer transition program designed to help a select group of incoming Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) first year students transition from high school to the university setting by providing a wide range of educational, personal, social, and cultural enrichment opportunities. By participating in Summer Bridge, participants attend a Cal Poly Pomona class, build academic skills, develop friendships, and become acquainted with campus departments, faculty, staff and resources. Course work, seminars, and student development opportunities help participants build essential skills that will facilitate their success at Cal Poly Pomona.

This summer 2020, due to the COVID - 19 pandemic and stay-at-home orders, we will be conducting our Summer Bridge program through virtual platforms but our goals remain the same - to support student access and success. 

Open to the General Public: No, only open to eligible incoming first year EOP students. 

Intended Audience (Age Range): 17- 18 

Any special requirements to attend: In order be full considered for the program, eligible EOP students
must do the following:

  • Submit their EOP Acceptance Agreement
  • Attend an Summer Bridge Information Session
  • Attend Orientation on June 22 or June 24, prior to Bridge
  • Submit a Summer Bridge application
  • Be available for all program dates/times

Description: EOP Transfer Bridge is a FREE three-day commuter summer transition program for incoming eligible Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) transfer students. While transfer students have had some college experience, transitioning to a new institution requires an understanding of new policies, deadlines, requirements, academic programs, campus resources, and campus life. This program is designed to helped students get a head start on their college experience at Cal Poly Pomona, and connect to EOP advisors, staff, student leaders, and peers, who will become your support network!

Description: PolyTransfer offers a free 3-day summer program that will provide you with the skills and knowledge to transition to CPP seamlessly. It is our goal to help students develop an understanding of how to navigate CPP and create a sense of belonging and community. As a participant, you will attend a series of workshops and activities that will strengthen your transition to Cal Poly Pomona.

Open to the General Public: No Intended Audience

(Age Range): 15-17

Any special requirements to attend: This program is offered for current high school juniors who are seeking guidance in the application process. Participants must have at least a 2.5 cumulative high school GPA to participate. Please note the sophomores can apply but priority will be given to high school juniors. Description: Welcome to the Bronco Family! Cal Poly Pomona's orientation program is the beginning of your university experience and ensures a successful transition into the academic community. Orientation is designed for incoming freshmen and transfer students, in addition to parents and family members.

Description: ASI is excited to offer Virtual Kids U! It consists of FREE, live virtual camp sessions for campers in grades K-6 featuring interactive activities in STEM, Crafts, Performing Arts, Recreation Games, and Virtual Fieldtrips. These activities will be hosted LIVE during two 90 minute sessions per day, keeping your camper engaged in the morning and afternoon fun, five days a week. Let’s camp together in the great indoors!
