Congratulations on your award, Dr. Huh. Learn more about Dr. Huh in the Q&A below.

Q: What do you enjoy most about being a faculty advisor?

A: I appreciate the opportunity to hear each student 's story and help them make their experience into a source of strength and success.

Q:  Who are your role models?

A: One role model is my Ph.D. advisor, Dr. Bryan Mark, a Geography faculty at Ohio State.  He has always encouraged me to keep up the great work. He often says, “Change the world, one student at a time!” He is a true mentor for me.

Q: What are some things that have helped you during social distancing?

A: The two things that have helped me stay mentally healthy are connecting with my parents frequently and reconnecting with friends. These have all helped me communicate with my students continuously in positive ways, even if it is either a screen-to-screen version or email. Speaking with them via screen can be enough to lift both of our spirits. Also, I have had more chances to talk with my child at home than before.

Q: What is an accomplishment your most proud of?

A: Watching many of my students graduating from Cal Poly Pomona and the advancement of their career paths is my accomplishment that I am most proud of.

Q: What advice would you give to students graduating this year?

A: I am truly proud of you all that you are paving the way for yourself, family, friends, and beyond in the community. Congratulations, Class of 2020!
