Guides
Any proposed changes to academic spaces (classrooms, labs, offices) must be reviewed by Academic Resources before submitting a Space Change/Modification Request.
Capital Projects are investments in the university’s physical infrastructure that add value to campus facilities, extend their useful life, or adapt spaces to support new academic, research, or student needs. Examples include feasibility studies; new construction; renovations; infrastructure improvements; and furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) installations.
Annual Capital Call
Each year, Budget Planning & Analysis conducts an Annual capital call. Divisions receive instructions, timelines, submission requirements, and institutional funding priorities. Academic Resources gathers information at the division level from colleges and other areas. The goal of the call is to ensure coordinated work planning for the upcoming fiscal year.
Please consult with Academic Resources in advance on potential projects. Modifications to infrastructure due to SPICE awards should be included in the Annual Call.
Projects approved in a prior Capital Call and assigned a Capital Project Request (CPR) number do not need to be resubmitted. Projects previously submitted but not approved may be revised and resubmitted in a future call.
Off-Cycle Capital Requests
Capital Project Requests submitted outside the Annual Capital Call cycle are considered Off-Cycle Requests and must be submitted using the Off-Cycle Capital Project Smartsheet Form. These requests require Divisional VP approval.
Approved projects will receive a CPR# or FPM Tracking#, and a Facilities Design & Construction project manager/coordinator will be assigned to initiate the project.
