Adelante Estudiantes

Adelante Estudiantes@CECCHE is a collective effort among faculty, students, and staff to increase the opportunity for students to participate in Alternative Spring Break programs model after the University’s motto: “become by doing.” Adelante Estudiantes@CECCHE will offer participants with a short-term service learning trip, to engage in direct service, education, resulting in the creation of active citizens who think and act critically (Piacitelli, 2013). Our organization aims to awaken a sense of civil responsibility in a twofold process: (1) by enriching participants’ understanding of social justice movements by visiting Chicanx-Latinx sites (2) to engage with history in way that provides a greater regional contextualization of contemporary issues.

The Alternative Spring Break is open to all student enrolled at the University, however; our goals is to bring together a group of students who represent a range of perspectives, experiences, backgrounds, beliefs and show deep respect and commitment for learning about Chicanx/Latinx experience.

Agriculture Council

Agriculture Council is a student-run governing organization that plays a pivotal role in overseeing the active clubs within the Huntley College of Agriculture. As the student government, the council is the central funding link between ASI and the Huntley College of Agriculture clubs. The purpose of the Agriculture Council is to act as a liaison between students of the College and the ASI Senate. The council is dedicated to providing a safe and welcoming place for people of all ages, abilities, genders, cultural, ethnic or religious backgrounds, or socioeconomic statuses. Each student club has one Ag Representatives that is required to attend general meetings or other events determined by the Council.

All students in the Huntley College of Agriculture are welcome to attend Ag Council general meetings held every other Tuesday at noon (U-hour) in building 2 room 218.

Alpha Kappa Delta (AKD) is the International Sociology Honor Society. AKD was founded in 1920 at the University of Southern California by Dr. Emory S. Bogardus and became affiliated with the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS) in 1967. AKD is also affiliated with the American Sociological Society (ASA). The purpose of Alpha Kappa Delta is to seek to acknowledge and promote excellence in the scholarship in the study of sociology, the research of social problems, and such other social and intellectual activities as will lead to improvement in the human condition. Alpha Kappa Delta is a non-secret, democratic, international society of scholars dedicated to the ideal of Athropon Katamannthanein Diakonesin or "to investigate humanity for the purpose of service."

Alpha Kappa Psi is the world's OLDEST and LARGEST co-ed business fraternity. Open to ALL majors, identities, and backgrounds our mission is to foster an environment that supports our members on their journey to become principled business leaders. The chapter at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) was installed as the Chi Epsilon Chapter on May 6th, 2017.

May we gain more knowledge about topics and cultures outside of our own, be of service to our communities that are most in need, lead our decisions with the utmost self-awareness and integrity, expand our support of brotherhood outside of our own organization, and create safe spaces for unity.

Alpha Lambda Delta–National Freshmen Honor Society

Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society is a national organization that invites students who have obtained at least a 3.5 GPA and are considered the top 20% of their graduating class during their first year or term of higher education to join. ALD promotes long-term academic success and has about 270 chapters at different campuses throughout the United States. Each chapter is made up of a council of student leaders with varying positions that contribute to the running of the honor society. Members participate in various community service opportunities planned out by the council leaders, or E-board. ALD chapters for each campus put together events to bond with fellow members, as well as contribute to volunteer and charity work through their own creative outlets and planning. Being a member of ALD not only gives the chance for a great academic bonding experience, but also allows the chance for possible scholarships and recognition through ALD graduation chords, certificate, and pin. Combined, the national Alpha Lambda Delta organization awards about $160,000 in scholarships every year to contributing members, as well as other forms of awards/prizes. Great opportunities for community service, social skills, and leadership experience make up this prestigious honor society that is Alpha Lambda Delta, but note that the possible academic and community service opportunities are always endless when it comes to ALD.

The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) is a professional organization for chemical engineers. As of 2010, AIChE had over 40,000 members, including members from over 90 countries worldwide. We are the Cal Poly Pomona Chapter for AIChE. Our organization's mission is to provide networking opportunities in academia and industry to Cal Poly Pomona students in chemical engineering. AIChE: Cal Poly Pomona provides academic workshops and presentations from well-qualified guest speakers from industry to help students with networking, seeking internship opportunities, and gaining more information on the chemical engineering as a professional career. American Society of Landscape Architects

American Society of Landscape Architects, CPP Student Chapter has the purpose to advance the knowledge, education, and skill in the art and science of landscape architecture as an instrument of service in the public welfare. To this end the Society promotes the profession of landscape architecture and advances the practice through advocacy, education, communication, and fellowship. The society provides the students with lectures, workshops, projects, and opportunities for firm visits in order to better prepare and allow Cal Poly Pomona students studying in the field to have opportunities to network and have hands-on experiences.

Animal Health Science and Technology Association

The Animal Health Science & Technology Association of Cal Poly Pomona is a student club, which s trives to bring together students interested in the field of Animal Health Science and to promote the welfare of animals.

We participate in community service through the Amanda Foundation, Downtown Dog Rescue, and Spa Day. These events provide low cost vaccines, nail trims, and anal gland expressions to low income families. These volunteer opportunities allow our members to serve the community alongside refining and gaining practical skills they will use for their future careers in veterinary medicine.

We also have volunteer connections with Drakes Family Farms in Ontario, which provides members with opportunities for weaning, hoof trimming, and administering injections to goats.

We promote involvement in our club by participating in many college-wide as well as university-wide activities and events. We take various field trips through out the year in hopes of exposing our club members to various aspects of our field of study in the industry. These field trips include the Aquarium of the Pacific and San Diego Safari Park. We also invite several different guest speakers from a wide range of areas within our field to show the variety of routes our members can take as careers.

Animal Welfare Club

The Animal Welfare Club (AWC) is a brand-new student organization that was designed to connect individuals who share the same values and ideals when it comes to the well-being of all animals. This club is meant to provide a safe space for all students no matter what their major, to learn and build connections through networking and gaining knowledge that can be incorporated into future endeavors.

Members will be provided opportunities to participate in on-campus, and off-campus activities such as Suture Clinics, Animal Welfare Assessment Clinics, Community Service, along with participation in the AVMA Animal Welfare Assessment Contest. Members will also have the chance to contribute through volunteer events such as the LA County Fair and CPP’s Annual Pumpkin Festival. Membership also offers the ability to advance their connections through student outreach and fundraising affairs. Lastly the AWC intends to offer monthly workshops that will include guest speakers who will introduce certain topics of relevance within their respective species. Anthropological Society

The Anthropological Society functions to enhance student education, especially in preparation for graduate studies or professional employment, through community-level involvement and attendance of state, regional, and national professional conferences. The Anthropological Society functions to create student visibility within the immediate as well as the professional community; to encourage holistic and respectful cross-cultural ideals; and to initiate camaraderie among anthropology students. As a club, we hold film screenings on campus to create awareness, fundraisers which help our club to function and assists us in attending professional conferences, and perform community services, and hold events both on and off campus. We aim to continually be engaged in our field, in supporting our peers and each other, and work to continue in the Cal Poly tradition of learning by doing.

Our club is also focused on providing engaging ways to promote learning of anthropological concepts. Our club is open to all majors and we welcome all who want to learn and engage. Our goals for this year are to expose club members to new anthropological ideas and concepts, while connecting with other students, interacting with hands on activities, and having a great time.

The Applied Electric Thruster Engineering and Research Group exists for the betterment of the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. AETHER exists to promote education and understanding of electric propulsion technology and science including but not limited to thruster analysis, gas feed system design, electrical system development, vacuum science, plasma dynamics, electromagnetism, and general engineering skills. Association for Materials Protection and Performance

AMPP, the Association for Materials Protection and Performance, also formerly known as NACE International, is a global community of professionals dedicated to materials protection through the advancement of corrosion control and protective coatings. NACE International was established in 1943 by eleven corrosion engineers from the pipeline industry as the “National Association of Corrosion Engineers.” The founding engineers were originally part of a regional group formed in the 1930s when the study of cathodic protection was introduced. Since then, AMPP has become the global leader in developing corrosion prevention and control standards, certification and education. The members of AMPP still include engineers, as well as numerous other professionals working in a range of areas related to corrosion control, materials protection and performance. Over the decade, AMPP began broadening its scope during its formative years, expanding beyond a purely CP and pipeline focus to include the oil and gas production, chemical processing, and refining industries, as well as other methods of corrosion control such as protective coatings and linings, chemical treatment, and materials selection and design.

Autonomous Vehicle Laboratory

The Autonomous Vehicle Laboratory (AVL) is a student-led research club focused on advancing the future of autonomous systems. We provide a collaborative space for undergraduate and graduate students to hone their research skills through hands-on projects, including computer vision, path planning, SLAM, real-time perception, ROS/Gazebo simulations, and off-road autonomy.

Past work includes path planning, image segmentation, behavioral cloning, data collection, and parallel parking. Future projects will explore VIO, active suspension, fuzzy logic, and regenerative braking. Whether you want to contribute to ongoing work, propose your own idea, or dive into research for the first time, AVL offers the tools, mentorship, and community to make it happen.

The club welcomes all majors and experience levels for those who are interested in machine learning, software, controls, or mechanical/electrical design. We are actively seeking industry professionals to support our mission through guest talks, mentorship, and technical guidance. In particular, we welcome experts in computer science, machine learning, embedded systems, electrical engineering, and safety designs who can share real-world engineering practices and help students explore potential career paths.

The Bat Advocacy and Tracking Society (BATS) is dedicated to advancing the understanding and conservation of bats through research, education, and community engagement. ChemE Car is a multidisciplinary project-based club. The students construct and design a car (shoebox size) that is both powered and stopped by a chemical reaction. The club competes at AICHE regional and national conferences against other Universities. At the competition, each team is given a designated distance their car must travel. The goal of the competition is to get as close to the prescribed distance as possible.

Geology Club

The mission of the Cal Poly Pomona Geology club is to create a friendly and stimulating setting to learn about the Geologic sciences. We encourage our members to discuss pressing topics and join us on field trips to areas of academic interest. We hold several field trips during the year, in addition to a traditional field-trip to Tucson, Arizona to purchase fundraising materials and mineral specimens for our enjoyment and studies. Our mission is to be an academic organization first and foremost. Our goals are to introduce members to different fields in geology and to inspire lifelong passions for the Earth sciences.

Global Medical Brigades

Global Brigades is the largest student led international non-profit. Our goal is to empower under-resourced communities to meet their health and economic goals through the collaboration of university volunteers and local teams. There are many divisions of Global Brigades such as Business, Medical, Dental, Water, Public Health, Engineering, and Human Rights that comprise their "holistic model". This model was created to resolve the various aspects that contribute to the "cycle of poverty" and knowledge that no one sector can solve all problems; it is a collaborative effort that will help address disparities in international development.

Our Chapter here at Cal Poly Pomona is a Medical Chapter. Our goal each year is to lead a week long medical clinic in a Central American country. We are paired with local doctors and community health workers to offer a free medical and dental clinic, pharmacy, and health education workshops.

Students will have the opportunity to shadow licensed physicians, rotate through all the stations of a clinic (triage/consultation), package medication at the pharmacy, observe/assist dental procedures, teach health education workshops, and provide resources and care to underserved communities. The brigade will expose students to all aspects of a clinic, and will allow them to gain experience and explore the profession while partnering with communities in need of basic medical care.

Our brigades are during spring break. The semester before the brigade (fall), we have bi-weekly meetings which teach about Global Brigades as a whole and about the community we will be partnering with. Prior to the brigade, during spring semester, we have weekly meetings in order to prepare for the brigade. These meetings consist of lessons in order to educate our members about the country we will be visiting, procedures and rotations through clinic, and basic medical skills such as taking vitals. Attendance of these meetings, as well as meeting the financial deadlines (set by the organization) are the only requirements to attend the brigade.

Hong Kong Student Association

We are the Hong Kong Student Association (HKSA) at Cal Poly Pomona dedicated to fostering community and cultural exchange by celebrating Hong Kong traditions and creating opportunities for connection.

Horsemanship Club

The Horsemanship Club provides Cal Poly Pomona students with the opportunity to socialize with other students of all majors who share the same interest in equestrian activities. The Horsemanship Club helps to represent the W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Center through their participation in the Sunday Horse Shows held every first Sunday of the month from October to May. During these exhibition shows the team performs in western, english, saddle seat, and other types of riding that demonstrates the versatility of the Arabian breed. We also promote the advancement of good horsemanship and team spirit. We are open to all majors and experience levels.

Huntley Peer Advisors

The primary duty of a Huntley Peer Advisor is to be a resource for incoming new students, both freshmen and transfer students. This is accomplished by serving as a peer assistant in the freshmen FYE 1000 classes and holding office hours in the Student Success Center. In addition, the Huntley Peer Advisors participate in a variety of other college and university activities, including orientation, Pumpkin Festival, Open House, and many more. The Huntley Peer Advisors also look for new ways to contribute to student life in the college and in 2009, began publishing the College of Agriculture’s Student Handbook and Planner.

The Huntley Peer Advisors are a chartered organization with the University and as such, elect an officer team, participate in the College of Agriculture's student government, Ag Council, and conduct fundraising activities.

The IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) at Cal Poly Pomona is a student-led chapter focused on advancing knowledge and interest in communication systems and radio frequency (RF) technologies. ComSoc provides a collaborative platform where students can explore the theory and real-world applications of modern telecommunications through technical workshops, speaker events, and community engagement.

Recognizing that communication systems are often introduced late in the engineering curriculum and can be overlooked, our mission is to bring early exposure and appreciation for the field. Inner Essence Dance Company

Established at Cal Poly Pomona in 2017. Our mission statement: "To help cultivate an individual's unique dance style, while making the best memories together." This team and community group offers an open environment for dancers from Cal Poly Pomona and whoever wants to come to take free dance classes and make new friendships. Our main goal is to create a space for all dancers at CPP to come together and share their passions. Our free dance classes allow students from all sorts of different organizations to come and dance together. We hope that this will help cultivate our Cal Poly Pomona dance community so that we as a whole may grow. We are also a dance team; Traveling around California to perform and compete at events. These events also allow us to represent Cal Poly Pomona as a new center for the Dance Community. Our events include: free dance classes every Wednesday (hosted at the Student Services Building) , practices at the BRIC, performances off and on campus, and competitions around SoCal. We aim to bring in people from the community who wish to keep dancing, or to pursue it as a career in the future. Our free Urban Dance Workshops that we host are open to the public as well. BIC hosts industry professionals and provides workshops based on Fundamental security analysis and portfolio theory. Our mission is to promote campus-wide financial literacy by providing the knowledge to understand the essentials of investing basics and personal finance. BIC also works hand-in-hand with the University's Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) program by providing managerial and educational support.

BIC helps the Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) achieve its goal of maximizing risk-adjusted returns for our clients while keeping their needs and expectations at the core of our investment decisions. Our investment decisions are driven by fundamental research with the goal of building long-term wealth for our clients. The portfolio construction and management processes are positively impacted by the selection of a diverse team to provide multiple perspectives. We believe markets are efficient in the long-term; however, short-term inefficiencies do occur. By utilizing an active management approach, we can capitalize on those opportunities to add additional value for our client. Our approach will balance risk and reward with a conservative inclination. Overall, the Student Managed Investment Fund will embody Cal Poly Pomona’s “Learn by Doing” philosophy.

Japanese Student Association- Touzan Taiko

In 2009, Michael Oguro, then-president of the Nikkei Student Union, collaborated with Sofia Chinen to start a taiko group on campus at Cal Poly Pomona. After a few weeks of messaging back and forth, the idea of starting a taiko group under the NSU umbrella began to become a reality. As the brainstorming began, they contacted Jenny Hirata, Trevor Ogata, and Devan Masahiko Koshu to help instruct. Ever since then, the group has grown from practicing with modified trash cans and chairs to getting their own Taiko drums and having the great privilege of showcasing their skills at their own annual Spring Concert.

Touzan Taiko is a collegiate taiko group that harnesses their passion and creativity to push the limits of the art. There is no music experience required to join, as the group is self-taught by its members. Kappa Kappa Psi National Band Honor Society

Kappa Kappa Psi operates primarily as a student service and leadership recognition society whose chief aim is to assist the Director of Bands in developing the leadership and enthusiasm that is required of his/her band. Our goals are to provide the band not only with organized and concentrated service activities, but to give our membership valid and wholesome experiences in organization, leadership, and social contacts. The honorary nature of membership is based on our premise that “it is an honor to be selected to serve” this band, its department of music, its sponsoring institution, and the cause of band music in the nation’s colleges and universities.

The educational value to the student of participation in a smaller group’s activities cannot be understated. Experience in planning, organizing, and carrying through projects to benefit the larger band organization are necessary if a well-rounded and responsible student leader is to be trained. The fraternal group, as embodied by our active chapters, provides this needed training group for the student by establishing both worthy goals and worthwhile guideposts for a meaningful college experience.

Membership in Kappa Kappa Psi thus becomes an educational and service activity as well as a social one, and it is this kind of activity that enriches the band student’s life and sharpens an appreciation for both the best in Music and what it takes to achieve it. Kappa Mu Epsilon is a specialized honor society in Mathematics. KME was founded in 1931 to promote the interest of mathematics among undergraduate students. Its chapters are located in colleges and universities of recognized standing which offer a strong mathematics major. The chapters' members are selected from students of mathematics and other closely related fields who have maintained standards of scholarship, have professional merit, and have attained academic distinction.

Liquid Rocket Lab

The Cal Poly Pomona Liquid Rocket Lab is a group of highly-motivated engineering students with an ambitious goal to develop a liquid-fueled rocket and be the first university to launch a liquid-fueled rocket into space. We take on the challenge of directly applying the concepts we learn in the classroom to design, manufacture, and test Cal Poly Pomona's first bipropellant liquid-fueled rocket.

This project is a way for students to get their foot in the door in the aerospace industry by providing direct hands-on experiences on campus in modern rocketry. We aim to become a world leader in academic rocket propulsion and experimental testing with an emphasis on liquid rockets.

Mechanical Contractors Association of America

The 2024-25 school year proved to be an opportunity for change and growth as the MCAA Cal Poly Pomona Student Chapter dealt with some organizational and procedural challenges. Thanks to the support of CPMCA, the student chapter was able to get on the right track and finished the year strong along with a great showing at the 2025 ASC Open Mechanical Competition in Reno, Nevada.

As we turn the page towards the 2025-26 school year, the Cal Poly Pomona Student Chapter is committed to working toward the support of its mission statements:

• To promote the commercial and industrial construction business, particularly Mechanical and Plumbing contracting, to the Cal Poly Pomona students and campus.

The Multicultural Council (MCC) is the umbrella organization for over 25 cultural clubs on campus. Students are invited to join one of the multicultural organizations. The Nikkei Student Union is a cultural club at the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Also known as NSU, t his organization is a Japanese American cultural, community and social club that exists in order to bring people of common interest and background together, while preserving and advancing Japanese American history and culture. Founded in the Spring of 2008, the Nikkei Student Union is a non-discriminatory organization that welcomes all individuals interested in the Japanese American culture. Trenchless technology refers to a set of construction methods used to install or rehabilitate underground utilities with minimal surface disruption. The rapidly developing field of trenchless underground methodology represents the leading edge of construction technology today. Particle Imaging Velocimetry

PIV will provide students with training in advanced flow measurement technics and opportunities to experiment with various aspects of aerospace engineering by also offering training in wind tunnel operation, data processing, structural testing, avionics, computer-aided design and manufacturing, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), systems engineering and engineering management.

Beyond its role in providing opportunities for students to better their technical skills, PIV will also provide opportunities for members to enhance their soft skills, specifically through leadership and public speaking, thus equipping members with a well-rounded skill set for personal and professional growth.

Philosophy Club

The Philosophy Club is an organization that facilitates the communication of ideas and connection between those interested in Philosophy. Through this club, students are able to interact with professors outside of the classroom, engage with guest speakers, and explore questions related to graduate school and post-bacc options available to Philosophy majors. Additionally, the club hosts social events that build the Philosophy community on campus, through events like open study hours, movie nights, and reading groups. In addition to building campus community, the Philosophy Club is committed to expanding student involvement in the greater Philosophical community through the attendance of speaker series at neighboring schools, as well as a conference held by the American Philosophical Association (APA).

Ridge Runners is an organization dedicated to the avocation of snow-sports and the improvement of the social life at Cal Poly Pomona. The Cal Poly Pomona Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists connects young journalists with professionals through the SPJ network. The purpose of Solar Boat is to provide students with an opportunity to work as a cross-functional team that designs, builds, and tests a boat that runs on renewable energy.

Steel Bridge

Steel Bridge challenges Civil Engineering students by raise awareness to real world engineering issues. These concerns include meeting a client’s requirements while being efficient and economic. Each year the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) publishes new rules introducing the problem statement, scoring, and materials, components, structural, equipment, and construction specifications. As a result, the process is designing, fabricating, and constructing a 1/10 scale steel bridge abiding to AISC’s rules. A competitive team’s performance consists of construction speed, lightness, stiffness, aesthetics, construction economy, and structural efficiency during the regional and national competition.

The STEM Research Association (STEMRA) aims to provide students with valuable research opportunities across all STEM disciplines. By connecting members with faculty, researchers, and external organizations, we hope to bridge the gap between students and the research world. Structural Engineers Association

The Structural Engineers Association of Cal Poly Pomona (SEACPP) takes pride in exposing driven and passionate students to the world of structural engineering. The fundamental goal of SEACPP is to enable engineering students to connect, socialize, and learn in hopes of contributing towards individual interpersonal and professional development. At our meetings, students are connected with peers and exposed to professionals in the structural engineering industry. From involvement in the meetings, students have the ability to learn about companies and projects, while gaining practical knowledge that can be applied to the industry. SEACPP also provides hands-on experience in proposing, designing, and constructing through student competitions such as ASCE Timber Strong Design Build. The primary purpose of the Students for a Sustainable Future is to promote environmental sustainability and veganism through educating students. Students for Sustainable and Regenerative Action (SSRA) is a diverse community of students with a vast array of backgrounds and interests who work together to advance sustainability across campus and throughout the student body, but with specific focus on the John T. Tamanna is a student-run organization with visions of promoting one of the few South Asian dance cultures called Bollywood and striving to unite the dance community at Cal Poly Pomona. With nearly 800+ college chapters, Turning Point USA College is the largest and most impactful movement for promoting freedom-loving, American values. Students champion these initiatives by organizing into student-led chapters on their campus. Turning Point USA (TPUSA) college club is a student-led chapter promoting principles of limited government, free markets, and individual liberty through campus activism, events, and discussions, aiming to educate peers on conservative American values and foster leadership, often involving guest speakers, debates, and community engagement.

The Cal Poly Pomona Ultimate Frisbee Club provides a competitive and structured atmosphere for previously experienced student-athletes who excel in the sport of Ultimate. As part of USA Ultimate, the club travels to various universities throughout Northern and Southern California such as UCLA, Stanford, USC, Sonoma State, and UC Santa Barbara to participate in sanctioned tournaments. The club competes for the opportunity to represent the Southwest Region at the USAU National Tournament at the Division I level. The Ultimate Frisbee Club serves the betterment of Cal Poly Pomona and is home to competitive ultimate players who enjoy traveling, have the necessary skills, and express the true embodiment of the spirit of the game.

Undergraduate Missiles, Ballistics, and Rocketry Association

UMBRA (Undergraduate Missiles, Ballistics and Rocketry Association) is a club at Cal Poly Pomona comprised of students majoring in STEM degrees who are driven to prepare themselves for the real-world problem-solving industry of engineering. UMBRA has many ways for members to get involved including skill-building workshops throughout the year, Pro-teams which allow groups of members to come together and challenge their engineering skills by designing a rocket with specific attributes or other engineering-related projects, and nationally competitive projects such as Nasa Student Launch (NSL) or the Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition (IREC). Previous Pro-teams have included Thrust-vectoring, Two-stage, sugar motor, air-braking, hybrid and others. Some of these rockets have launched up to 31,000 feet and are 10 feet long.

The United Business Student Senate exists for the betterment of the 20 business organizations under the College of Business Administration and ASI. We are a resource to these student organizations, any student under the CBA, and any other student who seeks our assistance. The CBA strives to impart a spirit of unified action among the departments, student organizations and over 4,500 students. CBA is accredited by AACSB International, a distinction that less than 5% of business schools worldwide receive.

The California State Polytechnic University, Pomona’s Vietnamese Students Association (CPP VSA) is an organization that dedicates itself in creating an environment of diversification and pride within our community. By following the three pillars in which we stand for: Family, Honor, and Tradition; we stand as an organization that have built an intercultural network of friends and thus in turn family. As VSA, we continue to strive to create a supportive and cooperative community for those of Vietnamese and non-Vietnamese descent. Throughout the years, CPP VSA has lent support to the Vietnamese community in Orange County with events such as UVSA Tet Festival and the Black April Commemoration at Freedom Park. We also help the community through a philanthropy project called: Union of North American Vietnamese Student Associations Collective Philanthropy Project (UNAVSA CPP). This philanthropy project is where the proceeds from our organization go to a non-profit organization that helps areas in need. We are CPP VSA: Family, Honor, and Tradition; always. Our story is here, we are just on a new chapter in the book.

Volleyball Sport Club

Our club manages both the Men’s and Women’s Competitive Club Volleyball teams at Cal Poly Pomona. We welcome all individuals who are passionate about playing volleyball at a competitive level. To become a member of the club, participation in tryouts is required (tryouts are held during the fall semester.) Open gyms will be available to players of all skill levels before tryouts and are not limited to club members. We offer both travel and practice player positions for both teams.

Women’s Club Basketball

Our club is a team of young women who travel to different schools representing Cal Poly Pomona, to compete through the on campus recreation sports club department. We are well prepared student athletes with experience from weekly practices, as well as educational guidance from our advisors. Our club pushes for the success of our team on the court as well as in the classroom. Overall, our goal is for each individual in the club to enjoy their time at CPP by building a bond with other individuals with similar goals. We are always looking for more potential members, and everyone is welcome to try out.

Women’s Soccer Club

The Cal Pomona Women’s Soccer Club participates in the West Coast Soccer Association under the North Coast Women Conference along with several colleges such as UC Riverside, University Southern California, Azusa Pacific University, Claremont Colleges, CSU Long Beach, and CSU San Bernardino. Under this league, the club participates in both the fall and spring semesters with games taking place on weekends. Once all teams have played their scheduled games and have been ranked in their specific conference, the top teams are invited to play in the Regional Tournament. Those that place at the Regional Tournament would advance to Nationals. In the spring, many schools also host their own tournament such as UCLA’s Bruin Classic, UC Irvine Tournament, and UC San Diego Invitational. Many schools across the nation are invited to play at these notable tournaments, giving our club an opportunity to challenge ourselves in a competitive environment.

The club has also participated in several tournaments over the course of the club’s existence, some of which included the UC San Diego Invitational in 2019. With our occasional participation in tournaments, our club fees will reflect the events we take part in and will also depend on how many people are active on the roster. Club fees are collected every semester. These fees will cover personalized uniforms and the club’s participation in the league each semester. In summary, club fees can range from $80-$150 with no tournament participation to $200-$400 with tournament participation. All of the events the club participates in is also discussed to the team. One of our top priorities is offering club participation for everyone who is interested in playing soccer. Please do not feel discourage by the range in club dues if it appears to be financially inaccessible to you. The e-board has done a great job in working with individuals with financial difficulties. Please do not let club fees be the reason why you do not participate in the team!

The club holds tryouts in the fall and spring to provide more students the opportunity to participate and be a part of the team. Writing Workshop Club

Writing Workshop Club is a club focused on creative writing, open to students of all majors. We work to support members in developing and completing their own creative writing projects.
