GIS day was a wonderful success despite the gloomy weather and persistent rain. All participants and attendees made the atmosphere energetic and collaborative. GIS conversations percolated throughout the room helping to spread ideas as speakers across various disciplines spoke on varied topics discussing map aesthetics, GIS analysis, and careers in GIS. There was also a beautiful display of 16 GIS posters, covering a range of topics, created by both students and professors from Cal Poly and Mt. SAC.

Due to the rain, we were unable to view Dr. Weimin Li and Dr. Mehrdad Koohikamali’s planned drone demonstration that would have taken place above the Rose Garden, or participate in Dr. Janel Ortiz’s geocaching event. We thank them for the work they put in to preparing these events.
