Electronic Music Ensemble

The Cal Poly Pomona Electronic Music Ensemble is a student ensemble devoted to the artistic possibilities of music technology, both state-of-the-art and vintage. Students focused on performance will gain experience with analog and digital synthesizers, laptops, controllers, interfaces, and more. Students focused on music production will gain experience with all aspects of live sound, from equipment setup to live mixing. The group performs each term in one or more of the several venues on campus.

Although an audition is not required for enrollment, a brief audition/interview will be conducted to determine the student's role within the ensemble.

New Music Ensemble

The Cal Poly Pomona New Music Ensemble is a student ensemble devoted to contemporary classical music of the 20th and 21st centuries, with a focus on living composers and selected student compositions. The ensemble explores music in a wide variety of idioms, from traditionally notated works to open instrumentation works, and students in the ensemble gain valuable experience with contemporary extended techniques on their instrument.

Although an audition is not required for enrollment, a brief audition/interview will be conducted to determine the student's role within the ensemble.
