Kellogg Percussion Ensemble

The Kellogg Percussion Ensemble is a gathering of students who are dedicating their time and energy to learn the skills, techniques, and performance practices of percussion ensemble music. The group performs each term.

The emphasis of the ensemble is to advance students' ability of reading complex music containing elements such as metric modulation, odd time signatures, variable rhythmic groups and fast instrument changes; to increase proficiency on all the standard and many exotic percussion instruments; to better musical skills pertaining to blend, balance, articulations, and other nuances inherent in performing as a percussion section or ensemble; and to give opportunity to explore different musical styles as they relate specifically to percussion music.
