Philharmonic Orchestra

Cal Poly Pomona

Philharmonic Orchestra

The Cal Poly Pomona Philharmonic Orchestra offers students the opportunity to perform traditional and contemporary orchestral repertoire in a collaborative, performance-focused setting. Open to music majors, minors, and non-music majors, the ensemble supports continued musical engagement beyond high school while fostering balance, creativity, and artistic growth through orchestral performance.

Ensemble Experience & Musicianship

Participation in the Philharmonic Orchestra emphasizes high standards of performance quality, musical expression, and ensemble collaboration.

Instrumentalists develop strong nonverbal communication and leadership skills, gain familiarity with orchestral traditions and innovations, and deepen their sensitivity to the expressive power of music.

Through rehearsal and performance, students grow as musicians while contributing meaningfully to a shared artistic experience.

Performance Opportunities

In addition to rehearsals and concerts, Philharmonic Orchestra members experience a broad range of musical styles and may participate in chamber ensembles, festival events, and special university performances on and off campus.

These opportunities allow students to represent Cal Poly Pomona while expanding their musical and professional experiences.
