Songwriter Showcase

The Songwriter Showcase ensemble promotes the creativity of Cal Poly Pomona's student songwriters. Songwriters from throughout the university perform original songs accompanied by producers, musicians and vocalists from the music department. Songwriters & musicians have performed songs from a wide variety of styles including rock, pop, folk, electronic dance music, cabaret, Latin, hip hop, R&B, country, and metal.

Students may participate as songwriters, vocalists, musicians, and technicians (audio, lighting, and/or stage).

Currently enrolled Cal Poly Pomona students may participate in the ensemble through the MU 3690L Songwriter Showcase class. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings 6:00-9:00 pm. If would like to participate in the 21st Songwriter Showcase in Spring 2024 as a songwriter, please prepare a recording or video of a song (words and music) and e-mail a link to ahwiner@cpp.edu. For information about auditions and participating in the ensemble as a backing musician, vocalist, and/or technician, please contact Prof. Arthur Winer at ahwiner@cpp.edu.
