Commencement 2024

Honor Cord/Diploma Information

Honor Cord

A gold cord worn around the neck of the gown signifies baccalaureate graduation with academic honors. Cal Poly Pomona grants honors upon graduation to students who have demonstrated academic excellence throughout their undergraduate careers.

Graduates receiving master's/postbaccalaureate degrees are not eligible for honors.

Honors apply to undergraduate students with an overall grade point average of at least 3.50 at the beginning of Spring term.  For additional information.

Everyone who earns honors at graduation will have that designation noted on their diploma.  The honors are:

  • Summa Cum Laude: 3.80 - 4.00
  • Magna Cum Laude: 3.65 - 3.79
  • Cum Laude: 3.50 - 3.64

Distribution of Honor Cords will continue on April 15 through May 10 at Bronco Advising Center counter from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  BAC is located on the first floor of the Student Service Building 121-East.  For more information or questions, please email commencement@cpp.edu.

Diploma Information

Diplomas are sent to the students' mailing addresses on file. Those to whom a degree has been awarded will receive a diploma email from the Registrar's office asking that they verify the accuracy of their mailing address. This notice will be sent to the Cal Poly Pomona email account.

The Senior Exit Survey is attached to the diploma email.  The diploma will be mailed out once the survey is submitted.
