AutoCAD Certificate
About the Program

Do you want a career in drafting or design? Learn AutoCAD – Autodesk's industry-leading drafting and design software. By combining "right-brain" attributes, such as creativity & spatial relationships, with "left-brain" traits, like mathematics & analytical thinking, you can create drawings and blueprints to construct products and structures, such as buildings, machinery, toys, microchips, plumbing & electrical systems, vehicles and a host of other manufactured goods. AutoCAD professionals hold a range of job titles, including engineer, drafter, estimator, designer, modeler, architect or illustrator. The field is expected to grow from 13-17% in the next five years and salaries range from $43,000 to $64,000 per year.

Aron Carcamo started his architectural journey at East Los Angeles College before transferring and earning his Bachelor of Architecture from Woodbury University in 2013. Since then, he has worked on many projects, from small tenant improvements to retail stores, commercial high-rises, and Transit Oriented Development. Influenced by large-scale projects such as the Willowbrook Rosa Parks Station Improvement Project, he sought to understand the surrounding characteristics that make up the community and pursue a Master of Architecture II at UCLA focusing on Urban Strategy in 2019. The importance of establishing and promoting a resilient community paved the way for him to advocate building and human-centric design principles with his LEED AP BD+C and WELL AP certifications. Since 2020, he has taught drafting, 3D modeling, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), and Sustainability through Building Information Modeling (BIM) at East Los Angeles College.
