Education and Career Development Objectives

Overview

The vision of CREST-RASM’s education and workforce development plan is to establish a comprehensive program that spans elementary, middle, and high school levels, extends through community college and undergraduate studies, and culminates in a graduate program that leads to a Ph.D. fellowship at a research-intensive institution. The comprehensive education plan, detailed and outlined with 13 key tasks, will underscore the unique opportunities offered by CREST and the collaborative efforts required to achieve CREST-RASM vision, which is not possible with individual grants.

Goal

The goals of the CREST-RASM K-12 education program are:

  1. To increase awareness and interest of students in STEM education and career opportunities in smart manufacturing.
  2. To create a pipeline of students, especially those who are URMs, to support CREST-RASM initiatives.
