Cybersecurity & Awareness Fair

Call for Donors

On behalf of Cal Poly Pomona, we are pleased to invite you to the 17th Annual Cybersecurity and Awareness Fair to be held virtually on Thursday, October 28, 2021, from 10 - 5 p.m.  This year’s event – “2021: A Cybersecurity Odyssey” – is our annual celebration in observance of National Cybersecurity Month.

This event began with a simple vision of providing information about safe, secure technology to our local community.  As a Champion Organization for the National Cybersecurity Alliance (link), our quest is to educate our community on how to improve cyber hygiene, comprehend biohacking, battle scammers, and be fearless when confronted with ransomware. With our partners, we also help students explore career opportunities with industry leaders.

Featured activities this year will include a cybersecurity research poster contest, a job fair for Computer Science, CIS and Electrical & Computer Engineering students, and presentations from students, industry, and alumni. Due to COVID, we will once again host the event virtually. Participants will include faculty, staff, students, and partners from community colleges and K-12 schools.

We invite you to become a partner through a donation, presentation or by hosting a virtual booth at our job fair. Donations can be made here or by check.  (See attached sponsor levels.)  Proceeds will help provide technology to freshman and transfer students.

The 17th Annual Cybersecurity & Awareness fair will include:

  • Presentations from industry leaders and Cal Poly Pomona alumni
  • Virtual hands-on demonstrations by student clubs
  • Cybersecurity research poster contest with $3,000 in prizes to participating colleges
  • An exclusive Cybersecurity Workforce Career Fair, a private event for participating companies to meet and engage with Cal Poly Pomona’s best students

Thank you for considering this opportunity to partner and help students discover a career in cybersecurity.  If you have questions, please contact David Porges, Director of Corporate Relations.  We look forward to seeing you on October 28th!

Respectfully yours,

Carol K. Gonzales                                                               Christopher Laasch
