Cyber Security & Awareness Fair

Call for Donors

The Cyber Security and Awareness Fair began with a simple vision of providing information about safe, secure technology. Over the past 16 years the cyber security profession has evolved from tools that make free long-distance calls and social engineering passwords to a landscape filled with phishing schemes, crypto jacking, ransomware, insecure IoT, and cloud cyber security threats. At the core, cyber security awareness continues to be a fundamental need for protecting users and their information, especially for students.

We invite you to become a partner of our upcoming Fair. Due to COVID, this year’s event will be presented in an online virtual format. As usual, the Fair will involve participation from our campus faculty, staff, students, and partnerships with local community colleges and high schools. We will also have participants from K-12 schools across Southern California. This year's event will include:

  • Presentations from industry leaders and Cal Poly Pomona alumni
  • Virtual hands-on demonstrations by student clubs
  • Hands‐on demonstrations by student clubs providing a take‐home actionable security tool kit for attendees
  • Cyber Security research poster contest with $1000 in prizes to participating colleges
  • Capture the Flag Games
  • An exclusive Cyber Security Workforce Job Fair, a private event for participating companies to meet Cal Poly Pomona’s best students from our Cyber Security academic and extracurricular programs. Companies will have opportunities for discussion and interviews.

Please consider participating and contributing to this key campus event through a donation, exhibit, and/or presentation. Donations can be made here or by check. All proceeds will help provide laptop computers to hundreds of freshman and transfer students displaced by the pandemic.

Thank you for considering this opportunity. If you have questions, please contact David Porges, Director of Corporate Relations, at dwporges@cpp.edu. We look forward to seeing you on October 29!
