Auto Services

The Auto Shop and Motor Pool Service manages the campus auto repair shop, performs maintenance on fleet vehicles, and files statutory reporting and compliance requirements relating to motor vehicles. The shop's aim is to provide quality vehicle and equipment maintenance and repairs. 

Fleet vehicles are those automobiles, vans and trucks owned by campus departments for their business needs. The Auto Shop routinely schedules all fleet vehicles for preventive maintenance, in addition to performing repairs on an as-needed basis. Please refer to the University Vehicle Management Program for information on campus-wide responsibilities relating to vehicle acquisition, inspection, maintenance, repair, replacement, re-utilization, disposition and financial accounting. 

Transportation Services. In August 2002, responsibility for Transportation Services (tram and shuttle services) transitioned from Facilities Management to University Parking and Transportation Services. Please refer to the following web page for more information: https://www.cpp.edu/~parking/

Vehicle Rental Program. Cal Poly Pomona faculty and staff members who need a vehicle for university business can use cars and vans from Enterprise Rent-A-Car or National Car Rental. The partnership with Enterprise allows for free pickup and delivery service at the start and end of any rental period. 

All university employees will receive a special government rate when renting vehicles for both business and personal use. The rate includes full damage waiver and supplemental liability insurance when using the vehicle for university business. University employees will not receive insurance coverage when using vehicles for personal use. Please go to the Rental Cars section of the University Accounting Services page for more information.
