CPP University Library Digital Signage Policy
Purpose
Library digital signage exists to promote library services, resources, and events. Use of signage may be extended to campus partners whose content aligns with the library’s mission, and serves the broader campus community. This policy establishes criteria for submitting content to be displayed on library signage.
Content from non-library groups is welcome when it serves the broader campus community beyond any single unit or program. This may include:
- Campus-wide events
- Library-related programs
- Collaborative events
The following types of content will not be displayed:
- Events limited to a single department, program, or class
- Routine departmental activities or meetings
- Content with no clear connection to library services or campus-wide engagement
- Commercial advertising or sales
- Content from non-campus organizations
Library digital signage is not available for use by non-campus entities.
Rare exceptions may be considered at the library’s discretion in cases of:
- Significant partnerships with the library
- Donor-related recognition connected to library spaces or initiatives
Approval for such exceptions is not guaranteed and will be limited in scope and duration.
All submitted materials must:
- Be relevant to a broad campus audience
- Be clear, concise, and readable on digital screens
- Include essential details (event name, date, time, location, and/or URL)
- Meet accessibility and institutional branding standards where applicable
- Avoid excessive text or overly complex visuals
Refer to the Graphics & Digital Signage LibGuide for technical specifications.
The library reserves the right to edit submissions for clarity, formatting, or length.
Frequency, duration, and rotation of content are determined solely by the library based on available space and existing priorities. Submitters may not request specific display lengths or guaranteed runs. During high-demand periods, external content may be limited or removed
All submissions are reviewed by library personnel. Decisions are guided by:
- Alignment with library mission and priorities
- Relevance to the campus community
- Available screen space
The library reserves the right to decline any submission.
