Appointment of Hayley Azevedo as Chief of Staff and Vice President

Dear Campus Community,

I am pleased to announce that Hayley Azevedo has been appointed to the position of Chief of Staff and Vice President at Cal Poly Pomona. With more than 15 years of progressive experience in higher education administration, including more than a decade at California State University, Monterey Bay, leading executive teams and supporting planning, operations, policy development, risk and compliance management, and communications, Hayley brings a deep understanding of the complexities of higher education and a demonstrated commitment to advancing institutional priorities.

Hayley’s most recently served as Associate Vice President and Chief of Staff at California State University, Monterey Bay, a position she held since March 2023.

Prior to becoming Associate Vice President and Chief of Staff, Hayley served as Assistant Vice President and Deputy Chief of Staff and Executive Assistant to the President at CSUMB. She holds a Master of Public Administration from California State University, San Bernardino, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State University, Monterey Bay.

Hayley’s portfolio of responsibilities includes providing leadership and oversight for the Office of Equity and Compliance and the Office of Tribal Relations, serving as the President’s Designee for the NAGPRA and CalNAGPRA programs, and providing direction for the President’s Office operations and executive communications. She will work closely with the President’s Cabinet to support and advance established goals and to engage with and inform the campus community.
