Activities: sheCodes; AI and Machine Learning Stock Market Predictor Project; Cal Poly Rose Float; Operation Santa Volunteer, United States Postal Service; Robotics; Programming

Hailey Campbell became interested in computer science in fourth grade after completing an Hour of Code activity. Seeing a few lines of code move characters across a screen sparked a curiosity that quickly grew into coding at home through Code.org, Scratch and Python. Later, C-STEM, VEX Robotics and high school robotics helped her see programming as a way to create, solve problems and bring ideas to life. Hailey is a member of Cal Poly Pomona’s sheCodes, in which her team worked on an AI and machine learning stock market predictor. She also contributed to the Cal Poly Rose Float for the 2026 Rose Parade, helping create concealment details for the jaguar tail and macaw wings. Through Operation Santa with the United States Postal Service, she volunteered to respond to children’s letters. Hailey praises her grandmother for teaching her patience, creativity and confidence while introducing her to hobbies such as sewing, embroidery, crocheting, cooking and baking. Hailey hopes to work at Disney Imagineering, where she could combine her interest in robotics, AI and themed entertainment.
